Growing up in Cleveland Ohio, Selim conducted his studies at the University of Akron,
wherein 1983 he began his hospitality career in the restaurant industry. Selim worked
5 years with The Girvis Brown Derby family of restaurants in Canton, Cleveland and
later Mayfield Heights where he opened The Encore Grill, Brown Derby's award winning
fine dinning venture. 1988 was the beginning of a 20 year hotel career that began with
Pickett Suites in Disney World Orlando. Later becoming Hilton Corporation, Selim managed
several properties under various brands including Guest Quarters and Doubletree, where
in November 95 he assisted in launching Thayer's first conversion/repositioning EMC
project in Somerset New Jersey. Following a 3 year period with Starwood at the Sheraton
Park Ridge hotel & Conference Center, in September 2001, Selim returned to Hilton where
he managed various Thayer owned assets in Plymouth Meeting PA, Fort Lauderdale and most
Recently at the Wyndham Miami Airport.
