Vice President, Sales & Marketing

With 30 years in the hospitality industry, Chuck’s concentration has been in the sales,
marketing and management of conference centers, hotels and high-end resorts. As Vice
President, Sales & Marketing with Thayer Lodging Group, Mr. Ocheltree facilitates revenue
growth strategies throughout the diverse Thayer portfolio, including Marriott, Hilton,
Doubletree, Hampton Inn and Wyndham Hotels.
Chuck joined Thayer Lodging in 2004 as Vice President of EMCVenues Consulting Solutions to
provide consulting support in the repositioning of hotels embracing the conference concept
with the addition of Executive Meetings Centers and Conference Centers to gain dominate
meetings market positioning.
Most recently, Chuck served as Senior Vice President for Sentry Hospitality for seven years,
where he was responsible for the sales and operations of conference facilities including
Morgan Stanley Training Centers; the Conference Center Niagara Falls; Bald Head Island
Resort; Sea Trail Conference & Golf Resort and Marietta Conference Resort. Chuck was the
opening General Manger of The Legends Conference & Golf Resort on the Robert Trent Jones
Trail in Montgomery, Alabama.
Chuck has served in leadership capacities at such well known conference centers as Peachtree
Conference Center, The Millennium Broadway in New York City and Doral Arrowwood in Westchester
County, NY. Other experience includes key management positions with Stouffer Hotels, Hilton
Hotels and Ramada Hotels.
Chuck is an active member of Hotel Sales & Marketing International, Meeting Professionals
International and the International Association of Conference Centers where he served five
terms on the Board of Directors as well as on the Membership Committee, Marketing Committee
and chaired the Customer Advisory Board. He is a past Board Member of the American Cancer
Society-Cobb County.
