Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer
Bill Reynolds is Managing Director/Chief Investment Officer of Thayer Lodging Group, a privately held hotel investment fund sponsor-manager based in Annapolis, Maryland. Thayer Lodging was formed in 1991 and has provided outstanding returns on invested equity over 25 realized assets in five institutional hotel sector funds. The company’s mission is to drive operating results and asset value through a combination of repositioning assets, re-branding, strengthening management and making capital improvements.
Previously, Bill was Managing Director of Hospitality Capital Partners, a private REIT sponsored by USAA Real Estate Company. Prior to that he served as Chief Investment Officer of MeriStar Hospitality Corporation, and SVP Development of Interstate Hotels & Resorts and CapStar Hotel Company. Bill was Principal and EVP Development of Metro Hotels in Dallas from 1985 - 1995.
From 1979 to 1985, Reynolds headed City Associates, a Houston based office building developer, and prior to that was VP Marketing and Development for Portfolio Management, a residential developer in Texas and Connecticut.
Reynolds is on the ULI Hotel Development Council, the Steering Committee for America’s Lodging Investment Summit, the New York Hospitality Council, and is a former trustee of ARDA. He has been a frequent presenter at hospitality industry investment conferences, and universities, including Rice, UCLA, Georgetown, and the University of Connecticut.
Bill holds a BA in English from Trinity College in Hartford and a Masters in Public Administration/Regional Planning from the University of New Haven. He is a Trustee of Trinity College in Hartford, and a director of The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He and his wife, Rev. Nancy Lincoln Reynolds reside in Annapolis.
